Lavern is a proud South Carolina native with a lifelong heart for service. A close friend of founder, the two served together in the military for eight years, forming a bond rooted in leadership, compassion, and a shared commitment to helping others. Through his dedication to his community, Lavern has become a trusted advocate for those often overlooked and underserved.
The South Carolina chapter of Just A Little Helps was established through Lavern’s desire to expand his impact and provide hope to those in need. He has focused his efforts on supporting the homeless and serving the often forgotten communities of Dillon, South Carolina. Through food distributions, essential items, and acts of compassion, Lavern continues to lead with humility and purpose, embodying the mission of Just A Little Helps and proving that meaningful change begins with simply showing up for others.

In South Carolina, our chapter is committed to showing up where the need is greatest. From serving members of the unhoused community to supporting residents at local supportive living homes, we believe care goes beyond a meal. Whether it's sandwiches, hygiene essentials, or simply reminding someone they are seen and valued, we are honored to serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and consistency.
